                                        Bilingual Education Program

The state Transitional Bilingual Education Program (TBIP) and federal Title III address the unique needs of eligible students, who come from linguistically and culturally diverse backgrounds.  Both programs share the same goal: develop language proficiency that enables meaningful access to grade level curricula and instruction.

English Learners

Special language instruction is available to K-12 students for whom English is not their native language.  Building registrars and teachers alert the district EL( English Learner) staff when a potential EL student registers for school. The EL staff will determine whether students are eligible and will set up a schedule to work with eligible students and coordinate services with their teachers.

                                                  Multilingual and English Learners (EL)

Multilingual students bring unique experience and value to our district. These students are identified as they register, then screened for eligibility for the English Language Development services Sultan School District offers to ensure that instruction and content is available to everyone.
