Our second season of winter sports is about to begin! Girls Basketball has their first practice on January 22nd and Wrestling has theirs on January 30th. There will be a pre-season meeting on January 19th at 12:50pm for students to attend before the school day ends.

Ashlynn Wood I can always count on Ashlynn to hold herself to a higher standard. She always gives her best effort and takes responsibility for her learning and behavior in class. She is a great example for her classmates of what it means to live an honest, authentic life. Weston Lavigueure Weston is an incredible student and scholar. He is remarkably open, forthright, and honest. He is not an “ask for permission later” kind of guy—he possesses such an upstanding character that you can trust him with most anything, and know that he will follow through to the best of his ability. The “nuclear codes” would be safe with Weston. Lucas Anderson Lucas can always be counted on to be honest and true to himself. Lucas is highly involved in school, athletics, and service to the school and community. He gives of his own personal time outside of school to help at community events, and is a leader in service at SMS. And he does this while making sure his classwork is done to his best ability.
Audrianna Elder Audrianna is one of those students who everyone wants in their group, as their partner, or to sit next to. She has integrity, is truthful, and is straightforward. She doesn't lie or cheat - but it's more than that. She is loyal and fair and is sincere in heart. You can always count on Audrianna to be her SKyhawk best in everything she does.Jesus de la Rosa Jesus is honest about the help he needs. Jesus has been attending homework club every week since it first started. He works hard on missing assignments and asks for support as needed. He has cut down on his missing work and improved grades on many assignments. Cadence Hayer Cadence is a super honest student who is always striving to set a good example for what it looks like to rise above when things get hard and to put forth an honest effort in all that she does.

Last Friday SMS held an assembly and handed out awards to students for Honors, High Honors, 4.0 students, and teacher given awards for Quarter 1. We were not able to get a picture of some of our High Honors students but they were acknowledged and each received an award! We appreciate your hard work!
