Free & Reduced Meals

EFFECTIVE the 2023-2024 School Year - Good News: Grades K-5 EAT FREE for the whole 23-24 school year. This is a significant change from 22-23, last year, when USDA had reinstated income-based meal charges similar to pre-COVID regulations. Applications are still expected for grades K-5, regardless of eating for free.

You may also return the applications to one of our school offices if that is more convenient; please remember to list all of your students on one application. Free and Reduced-Priced Meal Applications are processed within 10 school days; you must fill out a new application annually and have approval annually. The Sultan School District Office will notify you by mail or email if you are approved for free or reduced-priced meals.

If your students were approved for free or reduced-priced meals within the last school year, then they are approved for the first thirty (30) school operating days of the current school year.

If you were not approved for free or reduced-priced meals in the prior year, please submit a payment for any meals prior to the application’s approval.

Like, last year, we are still requesting the Consent to Share Eligibility Form to go along with your free and reduced application. You can find a fillable version of the document above in connection with the application and income guidelines conveniently in one document above. Without parental consent to share the eligibility of the free and reduced-price meal status, districts cannot share eligibility information with other local programs and cannot automatically remove fees.
