The Sultan School District Board of Directors will convene February 28th, 2025, at 5 pm via Zoom for a closed special meeting to discuss the new Superintendent contract and the schedule of interviews for Saturday, March 1st, where they will meet again to hold preliminary interviews for the Superintendent position in an executive session from 8:30 am -3:30 pm. They will remain in executive session to deliberate until 5 pm and possibly reach consensus on the finalists. It is anticipated that the 3 final candidates will be announced on Monday, March 3rd, 2025.


*NEW* Superintendent-Student Advisory Committee! PURPOSE:" .. gain student voice and perspective to help guide policy and learning decisions made by the school board and administration. " MEETINGS: Meetings for 2024-2025 will be held in the board room at the Transportation Cooperative Administration Building from 3:00 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on March 31, 2025, April 28, 2025, and June 2, 2025...MEMBERSHIP: Membership in the SSAC is appointed and is comprised of the following: 1) Student representatives from each Sultan School District school, grades 6-12, 2) Four representatives from each grade 9-12, 3) Two representatives from each grade 6-8, 4) Student Representatives to the Board, and 5) The Superintendent.

HAPPY CTE MONTH! Sultan High School is adding a heavy equipment simulator to the Sultan High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) program! Teacher Mathew Widaman was awarded a grant of $37,000 to pay for this exciting new educational and skill-building tool. The Sultan School District Board of Directors will be convening for a closed Executive Session on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, at 4:30 pm in the Sky Valley Transportation Cooperative Facility. The purpose will be the evaluation of candidate qualifications amongst the 24 applicants that submitted for the Superintendent position! If you have any questions, please call 360-793-9800. The Annual Sultan Education Foundation Fire vs Police Battle of the Badges Charity Softball game will take place on Sunday, May 18th at SHS at Noon.
All money raised through sponsorships, player fees, shirt sales (pre-order), and from the concession stand goes into a scholarship fund that is awarded each spring to graduating Turks seeking a career with Fire, Police, or EMT services.
If you would like to support this event:
• $50 Become a sponsor. Family/Individual Sponsors are listed on the back of game shirts. Each sponsor also receives a game shirt (red or blue depending on who you are cheering for).
• $20 Order a (red or blue) shirt. There will be a very limited number of shirts available for sale at the game. To order a shirt, there are order forms in the staff room, or you can shoot me an email, including the shirt color (red or blue) and size.
Payment – cash or checks (made out to the Sultan Education Foundation) can be dropped off at the Visitor Information Center in Sultan or given to Elizabeth Emmons.
The Sultan Education Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1993 to provide scholarships and grants for college and trade-school. They started with one $500.00 scholarship. Today they award $30,000 to $40,000 to Sultan Students each year.

The Sultan School District Board of Directors will be convening for a board retreat on Monday, February 10th, 2025, at 4 pm. The topic of discussion is the new superintendent's contract which will be open to the public. The position for the SSD superintendent closes on February 14th. The normally scheduled study session will still take place at 6 pm. Thank you!
